IPFW trails at the half

After leading for most of the first half, IPFW is behind 38-34 at the break against IUPUI at Conseco Fieldhouse.

Zach Plackemeier, whose shot last season enabled the Mastodons to beat IUPUI at Conseco, leads the team with 10 points. Frank Gaines and Jeremy Mixon each have seven at halftime.

Although IPFW is hitting 50 percent from the floor (14 of 28), it's not good enough, as IUPUI hit 16 of 25 for 64 percent.

Another key statistic is rebounding -- the bane of IPFW's existence. IUPUI leads the category 15-8.
