There was a time the Komets looked to be in command of this game. First-period goals by Lincoln Kaleigh Schrock, Tab Lardner and Frankie DeAngelis -- in the span of four shots -- gave Fort Wayne a commanding 3-0 lead.
Now, late in the second period at Memorial Coliseum, where there are 10,011 fans, we are locked at 4. And you can thank Wichita defenseman Andrew Martens, who has four goals.
And let me tell you, he's not exactly Bobby Orr. The 6-foot-1, 205-pounder, came into the game with eight goals this season.
But he got a couple of power-play tallies and got the other two by rushing the net hard. The Thunder must have gotten tired of having given up seven straight goals since the second period of the Komets' 5-4 shootout victory Friday.
