Just catching up on this, but apparently Komets Nation is all abuzz over the signing of Jon Mirasty, a 5-foot-10, 220-pound enforcer who's being looked at to provide toughness.
Well ... if you say so.
Me, I look at Mirasty's numbers, and all I see is a career cementhead whose main contribution, it seems to me, will be providing power plays for the opposition.
In nine seasons as a pro, he's scored three goals and has 21 points. Total. On the other hand, he's got 119 penalty minutes in 24 games this year with Syracuse of the AHL and Elmira of the ECHL.
I don't know what conclusions you draw from that. But what it tells me is this guy brings very little to the table besides the ability to take penalties. And haven't the Komets seen enough of that already this year?
