Grizzles could be a bear to beat

Let's face it. IPFW isn't exactly catching Oakland at the perfect time.

We're here in Rochester, Mich., inside the O-Rena, where the IPFW men will play Oakland at noon, and then the women's game will follow at 3.

This is going to be a tough one for the men. Not only is Oakland the Summit League leader, but it is coming off its only loss of the conference season, having lost to IUPUI 100-88 at Conseco Fieldhouse.

In that game, Oakland coach Greg Kampe got two quick technical fouls in the final seconds and was given the gate.

The last time Oakland lost back-to-back Summit League games was in January, 2009, when the Grizzles lost at North Dakota State and at South Dakota State.

The last time Oakland lost a conference home game was Feb. 16, 2008, when IPFW won here 71-66.

We'll give you a halftime update.
