K's leading Evansville 2-0

The Komets went 43 games without shutting out an opponent -- that's a mighty uncharacteristic statistic for a team normally so defensive minded -- but Kevin Reiter is 20 minutes away from his second in a row.

The Komets lead the Evansville IceMen 2-0 through two periods at Memorial Coliseum, on the strength of a short-handed goal from Derek Patrosso and a power-play goal by Mathieu Curadeau.

Good news on forward Sean O'Connor, who left Saturday's 2-0 victory at Dayton after he was driven hard into the boards. He's out there today and has one shot on goal. Also out there after missing a game with a sore ankle is Leo Thomas; he has three shots.

The Komets (20-19-5) have pretty much dominated the IceMen, who have a league-worst record of 16-23-6, but we all know that the third period isn't Fort Wayne's strong suit.
