Harrison Square tenants, construction timeline announced

Fort Wayne city officials and those involved in the Harrison Square project Monday announced construction will begin on the Harrison and named the tenants.

Construction is expected to begin on the retail/housing portion of the Harrison Square project that is part of Parkview Field in the spring with a completion date of the Fort Wayne TinCaps opening day in 2012, officials announced at a news conference.

The tenants signed on for the first floor of the development are Three Rivers Federal Credit Union and O’Reilly’s Irish Bar and Restaurant, an Indianapolis-based business.

The entire second floor will be used as law offices by Carson Boxberger Attorneys, and the third and fourth floors will be apartments.

The Harrison has been plagued by delays, having an original completion date of 2009.

Late last month, the city’s redevelopment commission approved a deal for Barry Real Estate to pay $5,000 a day for an extra week of time to come up with the financing for the project.
