Cochran back coaching DeKalb

Mike Cochran is returning to coach the football program at DeKalb. Cochran was the Barons' coach from 1998 to 2002.

Cochran, who is the associate principal at the school, replaces Jim Hummer.

He also coached at Fremont.

Cochran is a 1987 DeKalb graduate and played on the 1986 Class 3A state championship football team. He was also the Barons defensive coordinator when DeKalb was the 1994 4A state runner-up.

Former Snider standout Marcus Wagner was also approved as the assistant head coach, with an expanded role in the program.
