Lynch joins Butler athletic staff

Former Indiana football coach Bill Lynch was named an associate athletic director at Butler.

Lynch was a three-time honorable mention All-American quarterback at Butler, 1974-76, and a three-time Indiana Collegiate Conference Player of the Year. He later returned as the team’s head coach.

“I’m extremely excited about this opportunity,” Lynch said in a statement. “As I thought about (the position), it was just the right fit at the right time for me. Obviously, there are things I will have to learn, but you have to be active in fund-raising as a coach, I understand the importance of organization and building relationships, and I won’t have any trouble selling Butler University.”

Lynch spent the last four years as Indiana’s coach.
