It was a lethal combination in IPFW's 80-64 loss to South Dakota State on Thursday at Memorial Coliseum.
The Jackrabbits played hard and smart, and IPFW did not.
For one of the few times this season, IPFW didn't play hard defensively. And that explains the 80 points.
Afterward, IPFW coach Dane Fife said that South Dakota State has two of the league's best scorers in Nate Wolters and Clint Sargent. Wolters had 30. Sargent had 12.
IPFW turned the ball over 16 times. The Mastodons were reckless with it. Passes without thought. Putting the ball on the floor in a crowd. Things your 6th grade coach taught you.
IPFW came into the game in fourth place in the Summit League, and left it in 5th. It's not the standings place they should be worried about. It should be the funk, because that's where the team seems to be.
