Indiana continued its late-season slide, falling to Northwestern 70-64. The Hoosiers dropped their fourth straight, as another late rally came up short. IU trailed by 10 at halftime, tied the game twice in the second half, but couldn't complete the comeback.
Here are some of the highlights.
Key number: 11. The Wildcats made 11 three-pointers, many of them of the wide-open variety. John Shurna had three, as did Michael Thompson. IU went 4 for 13 on three-pointers.
That's a fact: Northwestern improved to 2-33 all-time at Assembly Hall.
"We weren't mentally focused in the first half. … We made a lot of mental mistakes. We didn't follow the game plan like we were supposed to. We didn't switch when we were supposed to, we didn't get through the screens like we were supposed to. The little things we preached all week."
