INDIANAPOLIS – Ivy Tech Community College and Indiana Wesleyan University’s College of Adult and Professional Studies have recently signed an articulation agreement to expand transfer of credit opportunities for Hoosiers throughout the state.
The purpose of this articulation agreement is to provide a basis for a cooperative relationship between Indiana Wesleyan University (IWU) and Ivy Tech to benefit students statewide who desire to complete a bachelor’s degree.
In the transfer agreement, graduates from Ivy Tech with an Associate of Arts in Human Services with a certificate in Substance Abuse from any Ivy Tech campus may transfer and apply 64 credits from that completed degree to requirements for Indiana Wesleyan University’s Bachelor of Science with a major in Addictions Counseling.
After meeting transfer requirements and completing two years work experience, the student will be accepted into IWU’s College of Adult and Professional Studies to begin the baccalaureate degree program.
“This articulation agreement between Indiana Wesleyan University and Ivy Tech reflects our shared determination to create a seamless system of Indiana higher education,” Ivy Tech Vice Provost for Academic Affairs Mary Ostrye said. “We are excited to share this new opportunity with our students and we're appreciative of IWU’s cooperation in making this transfer program available so more Hoosiers can earn a bachelor’s degree.”
