The National Weather Service in northern Indiana has issued a winter weather advisory for a mix of freezing rain and snow...which is in effect until 6 AM Tuesday.

* TIMING...Freezing rain will mix with or change to snow by late morning. a period of moderate to heavy snow is expected this afternoon and evening.

* MAIN IMPACT...The wintry mix will cause icy road conditions and hazardous travel.

* Snowfall accumulations of 3 to 6 inches are expected by Tuesday morning.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A winter weather advisory means that periods of snow...sleet...or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities...and use caution while driving.
