Gas House offers ‘Cheap Bar Eats’

If you’re looking for cheap bar food, Hall’s Gas House can feed you.

The eatery at 305 E. Superior St. has a new “Cheap Bar Eats” menu for customers dining in the bar, with prices from $2 to $5.

The menu includes a double cheeseburger with fries, fried pickles, zucchini fries, spinach and artichoke dip, wings, Cajun fried cod, bleu cheese potato chips, peel-and-eat shrimp, Greek pita pizza, filet mignon sliders and crab cake BLTs.

This menu is available 3 to 6 p.m., and 9 p.m. until closing Mondays through Fridays.

The restaurant also has daily drink specials, including $3 Bloody Marys and $4 Bellinis on Sundays, and $12 buckets of beer on Fridays.

Every Monday, hot wings are 25 cents each.

Buffet now regular at Lucky Moose

Due to popular demand, the “Alabama surf and turf” buffet at the Lucky Moose, 622 E. Dupont Road, has become a regular Saturday night event.

The $14.95 buffet includes Royal Red shrimp, crawfish, ribs, catfish, barbecue chicken, mashed sweet potatoes, greens and the salad bar. It’s available from 4 to 9 p.m.

On Sundays, enjoy the breakfast bar from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. It will feature omelets, pancakes, ham, sausage, scrambled eggs, salad bar and coffee. It’s $6.95.

And on Sunday nights, the pizza, wings and salad bar special is available from 4 to 9 p.m. for $7.95.

This week, it also will include a new menu item: the Buffalo chicken breast. The chicken (with skin and bone) is smoked, deep-fried and served like traditional Buffalo-style wings.

Venice guest chef plans beer dinner

Escape to Italy when the Venice Restaurant has a themed beer dinner at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

The menu by guest chef Jason Fabini, the Fort Wayne native and former NFL player, will feature shrimp diablo, Tuscan bread salad, chicken Parmesan sliders and penne Bolognese.

Beers include Blue Moon Blonde Wheat and Leinenkugel Honey Weiss.

The dinner is $25.

Reservations are required by Friday; call 482-1618.

•Peace Frog Coffee House will open at 1522 W. Main St., which was the original location of Dragon’s Keep Café.

•Participating IHOP restaurants will offer a free short stack of buttermilk pancakes to customers from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday as part of National Pancake Day. Donations for Crisis Pregnancy Centers are requested.
