Fortunately for the Bishop Luers boys basketball team there was no spoiler repeat of four years ago.
That was when then-freshman Deshaun Thomas' tip-in propelled the host Knights to an 88-86 win over North Side that cost the Redskins a share of the SAC regular-season championship.
Fast-forward to Friday, and it was the Knights who were trying to clinch a conference title, and the Redskins who were trying to play spoiler.
But the Knights didn't leave any room for any North Side heroics, and got the first SAC title in school history with a 76-64 win over the Redskins.
Back in 2007 Thomas, the 2010 Mr. Basketball and now an Ohio State freshman, helped Bishop Dwenger win the conference title with his tip-in.
