Big game, big loss ... for QC

This is a big game for the Komets, who have won 11 of 13 games and are just four points back of Quad City for sixth place in the Turner Conference.

Which means it's also a big game for the Mallards, who have lost two in a row. And now they've lost their top center, Mike McLean, who was called up to Milwaukee of the American Hockey League. He had 16 goals, 41 points and a (whew!) minus-16 rating in 44 games with Quad City.

Fort Wayne is 3-4-2 against Quad City this season.
