Luers girls win

ELKHART – Bishop Luers is going back to state.

Brierra Young scored 18 points, and Miracle Woods had 15 rebounds to lead the Class 2A top-ranked Knights to a 47-43 victory over No. 6 Culver on Saturday at Northside Gym in Elkhart.

Bishop Luers (23-2) was runner-up at state last season.

The Knights used a 12-3 run in the fourth quarter to take a 45-38 lead with 1:18 remaining. Young had five points in the stretch.

She scored nine of her team-high points in the fourth quarter, including making seven of eight free throws.
