Michigan State may have one of the best atmospheres in the Big Ten.
The student section — the Izzone — fills most of the lower bowl. That makes it difficult for opponents, who are seranded with chants and quirky insults throughout the game.
The Spartans also have played well at home of late, going 6-1 during Big Ten play with victories over Wisconsin and Illinois.
Purdue has handled tough road environments before, so it'll be interesting to see how the Boilermakers adjust today.
- In the first meeting between the teams, Travis Carroll got the start and defended Delvin Roe, and 6-foot-10 JaJuan Johnson defended Draymond Green. Carroll's playing time of late has been strictly matchup-based, so we'll see if he's back in the starting lineup today after playing five minutes against Indiana.
