Purdue senior JaJuan Johnson was named Big Ten Player of the Week and a finalist for the United State Basketball Writers Association Player of the Year on Monday.
Johnson, a 6-foot-10 center, averages 20.4 points and 8.1 rebounds. He is one of 10 finalists for the national award. He earned his first Big Ten weekly honor after having 20 points, 17 rebounds and seven blocks against Michigan State on Sunday.
"As a senior at this point in the year, you definitely want to be playing your best basketball toward the end of the year," Johnson said on Monday. "Still, I feel like I have some good games ahead of me."
