Patrosso gets a donut of suspension

Komets forward Derek Patrosso, who received a game misconduct for abuse of officials, will not be punished further by the CHL, a league spokesman told me.

Patrosso was ejected in the first period of the 8-0 loss at Dayton.

He should be on the ice Wednesday, when the Komets play host to the Evansville IceMen. I'm guessing that Jon Mirasty will be, too, after Evansville's Jeff Christian elbowed all-star Frankie DeAngelis out of the lineup for a couple weeks in a 5-3 Komets loss Saturday.

There was nothing on the game tape that showed abuse of the officials by Patrosso. I'm not saying it didn't happen. But even if it did, there was nothing like the gold standard of official abuse set out by Jim "Go have another donut" Schoenfeld.

Check out the video. I remember watching this live, in my living room, and thinking it was the funniest thing ever.
