Verbatim: Traffic signal change at Main Street and Clinton Street

Written statement issued Wednesday morning by the City of Fort Wayne's Traffic Engineering Department.

Please be advised the City of Fort Wayne’s Traffic Engineering Department and the Indiana Department of Transportation will be making changes to the operation of the traffic signal at Main Street and Clinton Street.

A protected/permissive left turn movement for west bound traffic on

Main Street to go south on Clinton Street will be added on Tuesday,

March 8, 2011 at 9:00 A.M.

The protected/permissive movement will begin with a protected left turn green arrow, followed by a green ball to allow motorists to make the left turn if there is no conflict with east bound through traffic.

This change should improve the flow of traffic and increase the safety of motorists making this west bound left turn.
