Bead Soup: It's what's for inspiration

Some folks I follow on Facebook (jewelry designers and bead makers) have been talking about the Bead Soup Blog Party and this weekend those who participated revealed their creations.

The Bead Soup Blog Party is a swap in which beaders and jewelry makers are paired with one another and swap packages that include a focal bead, a clasp and coordinating beads. The idea is the brainchild of Lori Anderson of Pretty Things. A jewelry designer on the East Coast, Anderson hosts the party, collecting names of participants and pairing them up.

I've been peripherally aware of the party in the past, but a friend of mine posted a link on Facebook to this creation today and I absolutely drooled over the piece. And, the designer's thought process really had me excited thinking about how I come up with ideas.

So, if you want to look at beautiful pieces and get a feel for how others come up with their creations, head on over to this post at Pretty Things and click through the 210 attendees of the Bead Soup Blog Party (you'll have to scroll to the bottom for the list of links).

The first link above to Anderson's blog has information if you'd like to participate in a party scheduled for this summer.
