Fill your plate for a good cause when two area organizations have fundraisers this month.
•Community Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Indiana Inc. will have its annual dinner gala at 5:30 p.m. March 19 at the Fort Wayne Marriott, 305 E. Washington Center Road.
Live and silent auction items include vacation packages, jewelry, wine baskets, season tickets and sports memorabilia.

•On Sunday, the non-profit Hoagland Area Advancement Association will have a fundraising dinner at the Hoagland Pavilion, 11320 Hoagland Road.
Swiss steak and ham dinners will be prepared by Betty Bullerman-Peters and the Bullerman family and be served between 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Carryout is available.
Tickets at the door are $8 for adults and $5 for children ages 6 to 12. The dinner is free for kids 5 and younger.
The association provides activities for area children.
BakerStreet cooks up 6-course wine dinner
Feast on glazed duck and poached sole during a six-course wine dinner at BakerStreet, 4820 N. Clinton St., on March 16.
The menu also features an heirloom tomato salad, filet mignon with foie gras and a dessert trio.
The dinner is $75, which includes tax and gratuity.

Restaurants plan Mardi Gras feasts
Some local places are celebrating Mardi Gras on Tuesday, which is the traditional last day of feasting before Lent begins on Ash Wednesday.
•Bourbon Street Hideaway, 135 W. Columbia St., will open at 5 p.m. (it’s usually closed on Tuesdays). For reservations, call 422-7500.
•Starting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Deer Park Irish Pub, 1530 Leesburg Road, will serve shrimp gumbo for $7.95, plus paczki and king cakes. Cajun Skip and his Zydeco band will perform; King Rex and Bacchus will make an appearance. No cover charge.

•The March special at Anastasia’s Café, 7121 W. Jefferson Blvd., will be a grilled Reuben with baby Swiss and sauerkraut on marbled rye for $8.50. It includes a house beverage, chips and a shamrock cookie.

•Fresh Market in Covington Plaza will have a cooking demo with cracker-crusted pork from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday.
