  • Howard not sure on return to Mad Ants this season
Howard has had some interest from NBA teams – that's nothing new, though Howard has never made a regular-season roster – and is again fielding offers from teams in Europe.

So far, so good. Mostly.

OK. So that was a decent 23 minutes of basketball, followed by 60 seconds of really putrid basketball.

It adds up to a 55-45 lead for the Ants over Reno at the break, a lead fueled mainly by a 20-6 run in the first quarter that vaulted the home side in front for keeps.

On the plus side: Solid halves from Darnell Lazare (16 points, 6 rebounds), Wayne Chism (10 and 6), and Chris Kramer (a Kramer-esque 7 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal and 1 block). An 18-point lead four minutes deep in the second quarter. A 16-point lead with a minute to play in the half.

On the minus side: A really hideous string of defensive possessions in the final minute, culminating in Donald Sloan's buzzer-beating jumper for Reno -- a shot he should never have been allowed to get off.

More when it's done.
