The good news is, there won't be any 18-point lead to fritter away tonight.
That's because the Reno Bighorns have led virtually wire-to-wire in the first half of this one, thanks primarily to the fact that the Mad Ants' shooting struggles from Thursday night followed them home, waited in the car outside their homes, then hitched a ride with them back to Memorial Coliseum.
The Ants shot an abysmal 5 of 18 in the first quarter to fall behind by seven, then perked up a bit in the second quarter -- they're shooting 42.5 percent at the break, but only 3 of 10 from three-point range -- to get the deficit down to one on numerous occasions. But the hump shot kept refusing to fall.
Then again, it didn't help that Reno's parted company with its own shooting woes, hitting 21 of 40 (52.1 percent) in the first half and knocking down 5 of 12 from three-point range.
More when it's done.
