Vincennes Rivet wins 1A title

Vincennes Rivet won the Class A girls basketball state championship Saturday at Memorial Coliseum 49-40 over Turkey Run.

It was the first state title for the top-ranked Patriots (28-0) after being the state runner-up the last two seasons.

Mallory Niehaus led the Patriots with 17 points and nine rebounds.

Turkey Run finished 24-3.
