    The IPFW women's soccer team (1-6) fell 3-0 at Oxford, Ohio to Miami. Kelsey Dinges scored for the RedHawks in the 25th minute from a free kick deflection to give the hosts a one-goal advantage at halftime.

Mastodon women win

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - For the first time in the school's history, IPFW's women's basketball team won a postseason game Saturday with a 68-53 victory over Missouri-Kansas City in the opening round of the Summit League tournament.

At 3:30 p.m. Monday, the Mastodons (20-9) will play the winner of Sunday's game between South Dakota State or North Dakota State. A win would put IPFW into the championship game.

Junior center Stephanie Rosado, named recently to the All-Summit League first team, led IPFW with 19 points. Seniors Chelsey Jackson and Jordan Zuppe had 15 and 12.

IPFW was outrebounded 39-37, but the difference came at the free throw line, where the Mastodons outscored the Kangaroos 20-8, with Rosado and Sydney Weinert accounting for 11 of the free throws.

Weinert, the South Side product, had 10 rebounds and eight points.
