  • Miami (Ohio) blanks IPFW women

Mastodons lead at the half, 33-26

After falling behind 24-19, IPFW went on a 14-0 run to take a 33-24 lead over Missouri-Kansas City on Saturday. Only a shot at the buzzer by UMKC guard Elise O'Connor ended the drought and provided the halftime score.

Forward Sydney Weinert leads IPFW with seven points and six rebounds. Guards Chelsey Jackson and Jordan Zuppe have six points each.

IPFW is 10 of 24 from the floor for 42 percent, and UMKC is 10 of 31 for 32 percent.

A concern for the second half is that UMKC was called for 10 fouls, compared to three for IPFW. Usually a statistic like that is reversed in the second half. We'll see if that happens.
