INDIANAPOLIS - Sometimes college basketball coaches open their mouths, and out tumbles Aristotle. And sometimes they open their mouths, and out comes Mister Rogers, pulling on his sweater.
John Beilein of Michigan gave us the latter today after Michigan came from 12 points back in the second half to stun Illinois.
At one point in the postgame, Wolverines' player Darius Morris made reference to something called "the yes face," which of course prompted the ever-curious media (most of whom, it goes without saying, have only a nodding acquaintance with the "yes face") to ask Beilein what it meant.
"Oh, yes, the yes face," Beilein said. "It's just showing that you believe and there's power in it, that everybody - we have some frowners on the team, the coach can be a frowner. We need to stop frowning. We need to just play through and show that yes face all the time."
So there you have it. Don't be a frowner, Debbie Downer. Show us that Yes Face. Yes, you can. Yes, it's possible. Yes, yes, yes.
Won't you be my neighbor?
