Komets locked down playoff spot
Despite losing 6-1 at Colorado on Friday night, the Komets still secured a playoff berth in their first CHL season.
The Komets were in last place in the CHL until February. After losing 16 of their first 21 games, the Komets were 27-24-6 heading into Saturday nights game at Rapid City.
The Komets were the last of eight teams from the Turner Conference to get a playoff spot after last-place Evansvilles 5-0 loss to Quad City. The Komets had nine games remaining in the regular season.
The Komets havent missed the postseason since 2002, when they skated in the United Hockey League.
