Fife reportedly in Peoria

Eventually this day had to come.

Dane Fife, IPFW men's basketball coach the past six years, has reportedly interviewed for the head coaching position at Bradley University in Peoria, Ill.

Contacted by phone Wednesday when he said he was in Danville, Ill. recruiting, Fife said he isn't commenting on the rumors. But after IPFW improving its seasons every year under Fife's leadership, the secret had to get out.

Fife may not get the Bradley job. Who knows? But another will come along. Maybe it will be this year, or maybe next. But eventually IPFW will be in search of a new men's coach.

One thing is certain: The program will considerably better than when Fife took over six years ago.
