3A pregame

A couple of pregame notes from the Class 3A boys basketball semistate between Columbia City and Culver Academy.

First, as my esteemed colleague Ben Smith pointed out, not only is the matchup a maroon battle but also one of two teams with Eagles as nicknames.

If it wasn't for the fact that Columbia City fans were wearing black shirts, it would be a complete sea of maroon.

Second, the CC fans are filling half the gym with their faithful, but CMA stands are full on the lower deck but a lot of empty seats in the upper deck.

The first game, between Hammond Noll and Tipton, had a packed house to watch Noll's 53-50 win over Tipton in the 2A game.
