Trent Green, John Daly to get Red Coats

FORT WAYNE, Ind., March 23, 2011 – Mad Anthonys President Eric Ottinger today presented details of the 2011 Charity Classic golf event.

“We are proud to announce that this year’s Red Coat recipients are PGA Tour golfer John Daly and former NFL quarterback Trent Green,” said Ottinger. “They will be honored at the annual Red Coat Dinner on Sunday, June 12 at Ceruti’s Summit Park.”

Ottinger also announced that John Daly will return this year to headline the 2011 Charity Classic event. “We are thrilled to have John back again this year. He has proven to be a huge draw for the event.”

The 2011 Charity Classic will be held at Sycamore Hills Country Club on Monday, June 13. Heritage Food Service Equipment, Inc., headquartered in Fort Wayne, will once again be the title sponsor for the event.

John Daly is a two-time major champion known for his big swing and active involvement in a wide range of charitable causes. “Last year, John was very generous with his time, as he greeted kids at the Lifetime Sports Academy the morning of the Charity Classic and hosted a round of golf at his home course in Arkansas, which generated $30,000 to help our charities,” said Ottinger.

Trent Green, a two-time Pro Bowl selection, played most notably for the Kansas City Chiefs and St. Louis Rams, earning a Super Bowl ring with the Rams in 2000. He played college football at Indiana University and graduated in 1992. He is currently a broadcaster with the NFL Network and the Westwood One radio network. Green and his wife, Julie, reside in Fort Wayne with their three children.

Since 1987, Heritage Food Service Equipment Inc. has grown to become one of the largest stocking distributors of commercial kitchen equipment replacement parts and accessories in the food service industry. The company is headquartered in a 125,000 sq. ft. facility in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

The Mad Anthonys is a charitable organization founded in 1957 and comprised of business leaders and professionals from northeast Indiana. The Mad Anthonys Charity Classic golf event is one of the country’s premier charity golf events and has raised millions of dollars for charitable organizations in Fort Wayne.
