As we look forward to the playoffs, which could see the Komets play Colorado, Rapid City or Bloomington -- and we probably won't know which until Sunday -- we can start trying to guess at some difficult decisions.
The Komets can carry only 19 players on their playoff roster, not including forward Tom Mele, who counts as one of the two amateurs the team is allowed to carry. So, Fort Wayne will have to leave two players who have made contributions this season off the roster.
Conventional wisdom suggests one will be a defenseman, since the Komets have eight. I can guarantee, assuming they are healthy, that the one blue-liner won't be Guy Dupuis, Frankie DeAngelis, Matt Krug, Michael Ratchuk or Craig Cescon.
So that leaves Dustin Molle, Brandon Warner or Bobby Phillips. Who would you leave off?
As for the forwards, I would have to believe the odd man out will come down to Jon Mirasty or Artem Podshendyalov. Again, what do you think?
We may know a lot more after tonight, when the Komets take on Colorado.
