The IHSAA will release the sectional groupings for class sports in the next couple of days, but some of it is already starting to trickle out.
In the four-class setup for basketball, volleyball, baseball and softball, there will be some interesting changes in northeast Indiana sectional assignments because of schools moving up in classes.
In Class 4A, Columbia City (which went to the 3A boys basketball semistate) will be in a sectional with Snider, Northrop, North Side, Carroll, East Noble and DeKalb.
In another 4A sectional, Wayne and New Haven will jump up from 3A to join South Side, Huntington North, Jay County and Homestead in a sectional.
In 3A, Garrett and Woodlan rise from 2A and are in a sectional with Angola, Concordia, Dwenger and Leo.
Area 2A and A schools remain virtually in the same place.
Sectional groupings in football (5 classes) and soccer (2 classes) will be released soon.
