    When American Hockey League training camps opened today, there were lots of players under contract to play for the Komets this season who took part.
  • Bachman in Prospects Game
    The USA Hockey All-American Prospects Game, in which Karch Bachman of Walcottville, is playing will be on NHL a network at 7 p.m. Thursday.
  • Komets add two players
    The Komets continued to fill out their training camp roster Wednesday with the signings of forward Maxwell Tardy and goaltender Eric Mihalik.

Phillips steadies the defense

Forget the plus/minus rating, Bobby Phillips has been solid on defense for the Komets lately. Think about all the shot blocking he's been doing.

  • Wow, there are homers, and there's Bill Althaus, who wrote of Rob Nolan: "He also came to the Missouri Mavericks to help the second-year team win a CHL championship. And believe me, he will not fail in that endeavor." Those are big words, considering Missouri had the fifth best record of 18 playoff teams. By the way, Missouri ended up losing its opener 2-1 to Wichita.
