Ant-icipation

Life would be considerably easier if the Ants only had to worry about Sioux Falls tonight at Memorial Coliseum instead of the goings on at Austin, Texas and Boise, Idaho.

First things first: The Mad Ants must win tonight to get into the D-League playoffs. If that falls through, then everything else is moot.

To complete the playoff scenario, both Texas and Idaho, the two teams the Ants are tied with for the final available playoff berth, have to lose.

All three have 23-26 records, but both Texas and Idaho own the tiebreaker over the Ants.

Texas plays at Austin at 8:30 p.m., and Idaho is home to Utah at 9 p.m.

Fort Wayne's mission to win tonight got a little tougher when it was announced that veteran guard Rod Wilmont cannot play because of a toe injury he suffered Thursday at Maine.

A familiar face is inside the Coliseum in Walker Russell Jr., who apparantely didn't stick in China. Russell, obviously, can't play with the Ants.

Back at the quarter break.
