Jenny Maldonado, lab assistant for the departments of biology and chemistry at the University of Saint Francis, received the 2011 Franciscan Spirit Award from the university. Curt Ladig of Fort Wayne was named president and CEO of Delta Dental of North Carolina. Ladig was previously vice president and chief operating and financial officer and treasurer for Delta Dental of Kentucky.

Tim Frederick, superintendent of operations for the Steuben Lakes Regional Waste District, received the James E. Burch Steward of the Environment Award from Alliance of Indiana Rural Water. The award typifies the message “Take care of the environment, and the environment will take care of you.”
