Look, I know what the script says: I'm supposed to pick Butler because this time Butler will do it, and that has something to do with the fact that Milan lost in the state finals in 1953, then won it all in 1954.
Well, I'm sorry. I just don't believe in non-linear precedent,where these things are concerned. I see UConn and I see Butler, and I see UConn simply because the Bulldogs don't seem to have a matchup for Jeremy Lamb. Kemba Walker and Shelvin Mack will cancel each other out, Matt Howard, Andrew Smith and will battle the UConn big men, but who guards Lamb for Butler?
So ... I think it's another grind-it-out game and UConn gets enough buckets in transition to survive, 62-57.
Although, remember, I've been routinely wrong in this thing. So I'll be right up front and say that's a factor in why I'm picking UConn. It's a reverse psych job on the hoops gods, or so I hope.
