And a few quick words about the Masters before everyone starts gushing about the magnolias and Amen Corner and Rae's Creek and the afternoon light slanting like God's own searchlight through the Cathedral of Pines ...

Tiger Woods is not going to win this tournament.

He's not going to win, or even come close, because his game's a mess and no one's scared of him anymore, at least not in the way they're scared of, say, Graeme McDowell or Lee Westwood.

He's not going to win because right now he is, in fact, Just Another Golfer, as prone to tee box popups and lapses in confidence as any other weekend hacker.

Which won't keep CBS from following him around all weekend with its customary Tiger Cam, of course.
