TinCaps bid at perfection ends

Zach Walters singled with two outs in the seventh inning to end Fort Wayne's bid for a perfect game.

Walters' hit came off of relief pitcher Chase Marona. Starter Keyvius Sampson retired all 18 hitters he faced.

Walters hit a one-hopper just out of the reach of TinCaps shortstop B.J. Guinn for the Silver Hawks' first hit.

The TinCaps lead South Bend 2-0 through seven innings.
