Fort Wayne pitcher Keyvius Sampson has retired the first 12 hitters in Thursday's opener against South Bend. The TinCaps lead the Silver Hawks 2-0 through four innings.

Sampson has struck out seven. He struck out the side in the first and fourth innings.

Offensively, Tommy Medica has led the way for Fort Wayne. He drove in the team's first run with a single to centerfield in the second inning. Medica scored the second run in the fourth inning when Emmanuel Quiles grounded into a double play.
