For starters

Right-hander Zach Cates will start today for the TinCaps against South Bend. Cates, 22, is making his professional debut. He was drafted in the third round out of Northeast Texas Community College.

Cates is a converted catcher. He made the transition after his first season at college after breaking three fingers on his left hand.

Cates reportedly throws in the low 90s. He is rated the No. 21 prospect in San Diego's organization by Baseball America entering the season.

Fort Wayne's lineup is the same from last night, when the team collected eight hits in a 2-1 victory.
