Written statement issued by the Kosciusko County Drug Task Force:
Kosciusko County officers arrested a Cromwell man yesterday on meth charges after locating him living in a boat in a yard.
Kosciusko County Drug Task Force officers responded yesterday at approximately 2 p.m. to the location of 9581 Pixie Parkway, Crowell, on possible methamphetamine activity.
Officers found William Fredrick McMahan, 50, address listed as "homeless", living inside a large boat in the yard of the residence.
D.T.F. officers also located a working meth lab inside the boat as well as manufactured methamphetamine.
Officers summoned the assistance of the Indiana State Police Clandestine Lab team and further located a second meth lab in an outside shed on the property.
McMahan was arrested and preliminarily charged with felony possession and manufacturing methamphetamine.
The Kosciusko County Prosecutor's Office is reviewing the charges before determining McMahan's bond this morning.
The Kosciusko County Drug Task Force consist of officers from Warsaw, Syracuse, and the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department that work as a multi-agency unit to combat the usage and sell of illegal and illicit drugs
The Kosciusko County Prosecutor's Office advises that the defendant's charge is merely an accusation and that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
