Smith on QB situation

Indiana will go into the fall with an unresolved starting quarterback situation.

Dusty Kiel went 14 for 27 for 196 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. Edward Wright-Baker went 8 for 10 for 82 yards and one touchdown.

"Overall, we've had a good spring," IU co-offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Rod Smith said. "We've seen some progress for all the guys. Are we ready to name a starter? I'm not going to tell you that. We've got some time to go. This summer is going to be huge for them.

"Dusty did some good things this spring. He progressed well, made some well-executed throws throughout the spring. Ed Wright did the same thing. He got better as the season went on. He was a little rusty early on. I thought his mechanics became better, he started making some better decisions. He gives you the threat of running the football as well.

"Adam and Teddy, they both did some good things. I was excited about the whole entire spring with those guys."
