Indiana co-defensive coordinator Doug Mallory broke down the defense while meeting with reporters following Saturday's spring game.

"The strength of our defense is up front," Mallory said. "We have a little more depth at the defensive tackle position. We've got some guys who we can rotate through that will give us quality production there. We don't have that luxury at the defensive end, but we are getting production from the first guys.

"Our linebackers, Jeff Thomas and Leon Beckum, both are those kids are two of our better players on defense for us. We have to find a third guy to balance that out."
