Statement issued Friday:
Fort Wayne, Ind. (April 22, 2011) – As Vera Bradley's employment numbers rise, so does the need for more space.
Vera Bradley is leasing 12420 Silverado Road in Roanoke. This building will house Vera Bradley creative teams and will be called The Vera Bradley Design Center.
The Vera Bradley Design Center is 39,200 square feet, and renovation is set to begin mid-May with the goal of occupying the building by mid-August. Seventy employees will move into the space in phases from other buildings. The total capacity for the building, once renovation is complete, is 120.
"Vera Bradley hired more than 220 employees in Northeast Indiana in the last year," says Julie North, vice president of human resources. "Currently, we are at capacity in the four buildings we occupy, so the addition of this building, which is next door to our Roanoke Distribution Center, is a great fit."
Vera Bradley has more than 1,500 employees, 800 of which are located in Indiana. The additional building will make five total in which Vera Bradley occupies across Northeast Indiana. Vera Bradley also occupies: 11222 Stonebridge Road, Roanoke; 5620 Industrial Road, Fort Wayne; 2808 Adams Center, Fort Wayne; 2208 Production Road, Fort Wayne.
