I think you're going to want to check out this story from Ben Smith -- click here -- in which the Komets voice their fatigue at hearing their championships knocked.
A victory tonight at Memorial Coliseum would send the Turner Conference semifinals back to South Dakota for a Game 5 against the Rapid City Rush and go a long ways toward proving the point.
- Ryan Menei will be back for the game tonight -- click here -- and, to me, that makes it even more quizzical that the CHL waited for a medical report to determine Sean O'Connor needed to sit three games for the hit on him. In the story, Menei does acknowledge O'Connor didn't do it intentionally.
- Don't know if Danny Battochio will play for the Rush -- click here.
- Enjoy this.
- Ha, this sounds like something the Komets would do -- click here -- as they don't have the best track record of taking care of trophies.
- Keys for the Komets to win tonight: A) Get off to a fast start by hitting and shooting. B) Take no retaliatory penalties. C) Pressure the Rush everywhere on the ice; passive hockey won't win. D) Get good goaltending from Kevin Reiter, if he does indeed start. E) Get traffic in front of the net and get to the rebounds. If Tim Boron starts for the Rush, there will be rebounds. F) Get a very raucous crowd going. G) Get contributions from the power play. Remember, the Komets are supposed to have better special teams than the Rush.
