Gag alert

God love the Namesake. Not only does he have a flair for the dramatic of which the Blob thoroughly approves, he also apparently has a sense of the historic.

This after the Namesake (for the hockey illiterates, Ben Smith of the Blackhawks, as opposed to this Ben Smith, the Ben Smith who used to coach the U.S. women's hockey team and the Ben Smith who used to play on the senior golf tour) scored in overtime to tie Chicago's series with Vancouver at 3-all. Now they go back to Vancouver with the Canucks wondering where the (bleep) their 3-0 lead went, and the Blackhawks thinking ... well, we've won three, why not four?

What an epic thing that would be. And what an epic collapse it would be for the Vancouvers -- maybe the greatest in history, considering they're a 1 seed and the Blackhawks are an 8 seed.

Ben Smith's blog.
