Fort Wayne's rally falls short

Lake County scored six runs in the first inning, but had to hold off a late Fort Wayne rally for a 10-9 victory in front of 4,561 fans Wednesday at Parkview Field.

The Captains led 10-0 heading into the bottom of the fifth. The TinCaps scored six in the fifth, one in the sixth and two more in the eighth to pull within one.

Clayton Ehlert struck out Jose Dore with the tying run on second and two outs in the ninth to preserve the win.
