Carroll runners in limelight

It's been a big past few days for the Carroll track/cross country programs.

On Saturday, senior runner James Martin set a meet and stadium record in the 3,200 at the Lime City Relays at Huntington North.

Martin ran a 9:16.26, breaking the previous meet/stadium record set in 2010 by Huntington North's Josh Graham (9:16.31).

On Monday, fellow seniors Brianna Johnson and Brad Hess will sign their letters of intent to Indiana and Ohio State, respectively.

Johnson is a four-time all-state cross country runner and 2-time all-state athlete in track. Last track season, she was the state runner-up in the 3200. She has also the cross country team to three top-five state finishes in her four years.

Hess was a member of the 2008 team state runner-up in cross country and also finished third individually at the 2010 state meet.
